He was biking yesterday and stopped at a little place. He had a cold soda, the place was air conditioned...and my dad started to shiver. He knew he was starting to get sick. At the park in Snowville (Utah), where the group stayed last night, they did not have any showers. They had set up tarps to make "showers" and were using a hose with cold water. Understandably, my dad did not want to take a cold shower. Instead, my dad biked to a nearby truck stop and paid for a warm shower. He seems to have a pretty bad cold. Leon said he sounded very congested on the phone. My dad was planning on continuing with the biking and then try to rest up on Sunday. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for the group - they are biking 95 miles (153 km) and going uphill a total of 5723 ft.
So, please pray for my dad's health. Pray that he gets better quickly and has the health and strength through today and tomorrow's cycling.
Please also note this prayer request that I took from the Sea to Sea website:
For the week of July 20
SEA TO SEA BIKE TOUR – WEEK 4!
Arnie Issette, of Canadian Lakes, Mich., suffered a torn tendon this past week forcing him to withdraw from the tour. Please pray for healing of his body and spirit. And pray for the safety and good health of all the cyclists, whether on tour or still training.
